Meditation Chimer

It times. It chimes. It’s simple.

Meditation Chimer is a simple meditation timer app for Android. It will chime for the start and end of your meditation, and optionally chime at regular intervals during your meditation.

It also has a big, friendly clock display, but you don’t need to use that if you don’t want to.

No adverts, no in-app purchases. What you buy is what you get.

Set the finishing chime, the interval chime, and a “settling down” period to let you get to your seat. Then press Start.

  • The finish chime can be set up to ninety minutes. The clock will carry on counting after your finish chime sounds, so you can carry on meditating if you feel like it.
  • The interval chime can be set up to fifteen minutes.
  • The settling time can be set up to sixty seconds.
  • All of these are optional. To turn a chime off, just dial it down to “Off”

The Timer. Hours and minutes.

Meditation Chimer has a big, friendly clock display.

You don’t have to watch the clock, though. Meditation Chimer will work fine with the screen locked. Your phone won’t go to sleep. Hopefully you won’t, either.

  • The clock fades gently from one minute to the next, so as not to distract you.

The Chimes. It’s a lovely sound.

The distinct start, finish and interval chimes are provided by audio samples of professionally-recorded Tibetan bowls and bells.

  • The start chime is a deep chime of a Tibetan singing bowl.
  • The interval chime is a delicate bell chime, designed to bring you back to the present moment if necessary.
  • The finishing chime is a double-chime, to make it distinctive.
  • Each chime's volume can be set individually in the app's settings.
